Fly Blue Crane is a dynamic new airline launched in September 2015. With its operational hub at OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, Fly Blue Crane offers customers a much needed alternative air travel option to various business and leisure destinations within the Southern African region.
ThoughtCorp was appointed to design the site and provide usability as well as conversion optimization services. “We need a unique design, making it as easy as possible for our customers to book and manage their flights online” said Paula de Sousa, CIO of Fly Blue Crane.
The airline offers customers a fresh approach to air travel. With the website as the core of the booking system, it was critical for the website design to reflect this.
Fly Blue Crane strives to offer the ultimate travel experience by ensuring that its business processes make it effortless for customers to Book, Check-In and enjoy Fly Blue Crane’s onboard service, arriving at the preferred destination timeously.
“The website objectives are the same as the airline goals” says Kevin Felsher, Director of ThoughtCorp. “And we will achieve this through simplicity. The site design must be attractive, interesting and intuitive.”
In designing the Fly Blue Crane website, ThoughtCorp cut out all the unnecessary elements that slow down the booking process and frustrate customers. Users can easily book a flight, add extras such as additional baggage, make itinerary changes, check-in and get flight status updates, all online. The website is also mobile friendly and automatically changes configuration depending on the type of device the customer is using.
ThoughtCorp has a long history in designing and developing websites for the travel industry. “We have built sites for Flysaa, Mango, Southern Sun and RCI among others” says Rob Braune a director of ThoughtCorp.
